Community Guidelines

The following helps set out the guidelines for the way we interact with one another in the following The Way community.

Those of us who are following The Way are about creating a community of mutual support, care and compassion for the purpose of making the world a place of justice, peace, understanding, and love. This is our guiding principle and informs everything we do.

While we don’t require that people commit to believing certain things, we do require that people commit to behaving a certain way. Our interactions with one another are to be characterized by support, care and compassion.

Support: We exist to support one another in community in living an authentic and faithful life. This is hard work and cannot be done alone. We need one another.

Care: We are people who care about one another. We cannot say “I have no need of you.” All of our words and actions should be built upon mutual respect, even when we disagree. Especially when we disagree. We respect the dignity of every human being.

Compassion: The Latin roots of the meaning of compassion is co-suffering. We are in this together. Whatever brings joy to one brings joy to all. Whatever brings pain to one brings pain to all.

The golden rule says to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Therefore any behavior or words that devalue or demean another person will not be tolerated. This will be a challenge for most of us as the ways of this world are full of behavior that devalues and demeans. We hold one another accountable to a higher way of being.

Anyone who cannot abide by these guidelines will become subject to removal from the following The Way community.

Our end goal is to co-create with God a word of justice, peace, understanding and love. We do this by ever more deeply loving with all our

  • Heart (making the world a place of justice),

  • Soul (making the world a place of peace),

  • Mind (making the world a place of understanding), and

  • Strength (making the world a place of love)

We are united around this mission and for this purpose. We are glad you are a part of the journey with us.
